One of the best features in my husbands car is Onstar. We have used it many times over that past couple of years to find our way and communicate. Onstar has located his car and can contact emergency services personnel if needed. It is also a feature which in some ways invades your privacy, in seconds they know exactly where you are almost like riding in the car with you. Easy pass is another good and bad tech innovation. Yes it's much better getting through the toll booths when you have one but at the same time the dept. of Trans. and the police can know exactly where you were and how fast you are traveling. You can get a speeding ticket. Now I just learned via another blog soze's bLOG a little about location aware technology that works through cell phones, with the link to this article Lost Hiding? Your Cell Phone is keeping tabs. Real Privacy issues are going to come to the fore as this technology gains in popularity. The good is you can be located through your cell phone when you dial 911. The bad is you can be located by someone who just wants to keep tabs on you for any number of reasons. Do you like being spied on? Not me. There are no laws specific to the use of this technology it's still too new. I wonder what the test case will be.

Ambler Main Street, the group that promotes downtown Ambler, where we are located, was preparing their mailing and I went to help stuff envelopes and put on labels. Our little downtown is really coming along well. There are so many new shops and restaurants, a live theater, Act 11 Playhouse and a movie theater called Ambler Theater which opened in February. The shops are mainly located on Butler Ave. but are beginning to spread down Main Street to. It's fun seeing all of this happen.

Thanks to Girl Hackers Random Log, I was pointed to the Pepsi site's ad page. One of the ads Just Lunch is, I'm sure, what's happening at my house sometimes. Usually, I can catch the culprit. Although today there was a glass broken in the kitchen, knocked off the table and none of the usual suspects around.

Therapy Resources Inc website was just updated for December and the winter home pictures are posted. They went up early this year. The Holiday activity pages are all updated and we're waiting for our Jacquie Lawson Christmas card. The computer capers page on blogs last month was very popular and that will probably return. This month though Computer Capers is a web tour of Holiday sites. Check it out.
Great Harvest Bread Company has joined the lo carb band wagon with a lo carb multigrain bread. We just bought a loaf last Saturday in their Wayne Pennsylvania store. It tasted fine and sliced fine. I have requested the nutrition information from Great harvest. Strangely one of our cats is strongly attracted to it. Jumping onto the top of the microwave several times and chewing through the plastic bags to try to get to it. I finally put it in the microwave.

You can perform a citizens arrest on yourself. The University of Oklahoma has a self arrest form that you can fill out, admit to your crime and put yourself under arrest. Saving them the trouble of doing it.

This should make a lot of people happy. Breyer's Ice Cream is making a lo carb ice cream. They show three flavors on the site so far and they're the ones you would expect; vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. The nutrition information states that 1/2 cup yields 4 net carbs.

The rate your teacher web sites are causing some controversy here in the Philly area, Rate My Teachers and Rate My Professors, are two that I found doing a quick search. It seems that some of the teachers may be worried that students and possibly other teachers may use these sites to bash them rather than give a fair and honest rating.
